Accelerating energy transition in Serbia
The Tenth International Energy and Investment Days will be held on 29. and 30. September in Congress Centre “Master” of the Novi Sad Fair.
A sustainable energy sector that provides a secure and affordable supply is one of the basic prerequisites for survival and a dignified life. Creating such a sector and managing it in the face of a looming climate crisis is a major challenge and requires a lot of technical and managerial knowledge, as well as significant financial resources.
Since our last meeting, there have been many changes at the global and national levels that can significantly shape the future of energy:
- The EU continues to lead in energy transition policies, and the United States and China unequivocally join it.
- The International Energy Agency has prepared and published a scenario for the global energy sector with net zero carbon emissions in 2050, which depicts an urgent and comprehensive change in energy based on renewable energy sources and energy efficiency.
- A climate conference in Glasgow awaits us in November, at which world leaders should respond to the Report on Climate Change, which the Secretary General of the United Nations called the “code red for humanity”.
- In the Republic of Serbia, significant interventions in the legal framework have been made in these areas this year, and a legal environment is being created that will enable the adoption and implementation of appropriate public policies that will avoid lagging behind in the energy transition.
We invite you to join us on Wednesday, September 29 and Thursday, September 30, at the Tenth International Energy and Investment Days, and to contribute, as an exhibitor or panel participant, to improving the resilience of our society by sharing and increasing knowledge about ways to make energy sustainable. Along with the exhibition part of the event, which will enable companies, institutions and local governments to present their projects in the field of energy, in the congress segment we will discuss current topics in quality discussions, with some of the leading Serbian and international experts.
We will have the opportunity to learn more details from the representatives of the Government of the Republic of Serbia about the ongoing projects on the preparation of public policy documents and plans for the future, since the Deputy Prime Minister, Zorana Mihajlović, will be present at the opening ceremony to support our joint efforts to come up with new and better plans for more sustainable energy.
The Novi Sad Fair is organizing the tenth International Energy and Investments Days with the support of the Provincial Secretariat for Energy, Construction and Transport, while RES Foundation is the partner in the congress segment organization.
