The purpose of this project is to contribute to the air pollution reduction in Serbia through mitigating the effects of individual heating by implementation of cost-effective measures based on evidence-based policymaking. The Project will strive to improve capacities and knowledge of the decision and policy makers on both national and local level in Serbia to deploy more effectively available resources for reducing the air pollution originated from individual households.
The Project will provide recommendations (policy, technical, legal, institutional) for the future air pollution reduction support schemes in Serbia by performing the analysis of the process of the support scheme conducted by the Serbian Government in February 2021, by providing support and monitor the implementation of the awarded projects in the targeted LSGs, and through generating data, practical inputs and lessons learnt, identification of obstacles and barriers and provision of practical tools and alternative heating solutions.
The key findings and set of recommendations will be offered to the interested LSGs through the existing networks (Network for Good Energy, Coalition 27, SCTM) and serial of workshops, formulated in an attractive communication and learning Guide and promoted at the Annual Air Quality Conference organized traditionally by RES Foundation in December.
Funds for this project come from the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Belgrade, the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as a part of the larger Norwegian effort in supporting civil society organizations in Montenegro, North Macedonia and Serbia and Balkan Trust for Democracy, a project of the German Marshall Fund of the United States.
