Programme director of RES Foundation, Aleksandar Macura, delivered intervention in the panel on Regional efforts towards the Green Agenda objectives held within the framework of the Green Agenda in the Western Balkans and the EU integration: the path to alignment policy dialogue workshop, organized by the European Council on Foreign Relations in Skopje on 17-18 April. Focus of his intervention was on the immediate need to redirect resources for energy efficiency improvements to the energy poor.
He also stressed the need to integrate Western Balkans in the EU ETS to avoid huge risks for investments in modernisation of the energy sector that may arise from the lack of predictability related to regulatory framework governing GHG emissions. Event gathered members representatives of the EU, Germany governments and parliaments from the region as well as leading CSOs from the region.
