On Thursday, January 23, in Užice, the RES Foundation, in cooperation with the Regional Development Agency Zlatibor, held a lecture and energy consulting for professional managers of housing communities. The topic was the Housing community as a prosumer of electricity and energy efficiency measures in collective housing buildings. Can a residential community produce its own electricity, can it use such energy, for what purposes and under what conditions, as well as what are all the challenges in the way of energy efficiency of residential buildings, were some of the questions to which this conversation gave answers.

The lecture began with the basic concepts of the electric power system: production, transmission, distribution and consumption of electric energy, continuing with the legal and technical framework of solar energy distribution in Serbia, while the conversation ended with the topic of various aspects of the energy efficiency of residential buildings, such as legal and technical challenges, but also financing and coordination challenges.

Although it is clear that the problems that building managers are facing are much broader and deeper than our topic, together we concluded that such initiatives are valuable, that mutual information is a prerequisite for any quality work and that it is to be expected that initiatives of this type will soon occur in some buildings. When such thoughts arise, managers now know that they can turn to the Energy Advisory Center for technical support.
