Citizens across the region of the Western Balkans, namely – in each of the six markets that make up the so-called “Western Balkan 6”, were surveyed to learn about their heating practices, profiles of residential buildings, energy consumption, attitudes regarding the potential replacement of household heating devices, and awareness of the health aspects of energy consumption and heating practices.
This survey was conducted as a part of the project “Smarter Stoves Partnership”, which aims to create a regional knowledge platform to inform future schemes for the replacement of inefficient individual solid-fuel heating devices in households across the region. The project is being implemented by RES Foundation, and is funded by the Austrian Ministry of Climate and European Climate Foundation (ECF).
