As we pointed out in our previous works from the series Who owns energy efficiency, public policies that are being implemented or are being prepared increase private benefits from improving energy efficiency on the part of households that do not belong to vulnerable categories.
Therefore, increased public spending from the national and development support budgets for private energy efficiency improvements requires increased monitoring by the holders of public goods. This need arises at times when special attention is paid to the diligence of public administration, and hundreds of political actors with limited previous experience and limited understanding of the sector are or could be elected as representatives of citizens in various representative bodies.
It is an opportunity for all of us to understand together how the political wills of local governments, the Republic of Serbia, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development and other factors have been formed around such a designed intervention. This is especially important for the future creators of good energy public policies in the new Serbian society, as can be concluded from the summary of public policy in front of you.
